Yellow Bird

Drawing on the song Yellow Bird as an invocation, Carénage creates an embodied sonic interruption. Her personal and historical connections to this Moko Jumbie, to Europe, and to the carnivalesque unsettle binaries tied to belonging and kinship. A presence both haunting and grounding, Carénage and the Moko Jumbie glitch Creole memory into Berlin’s public space.
